-Miley Cyrus at the VMA's, a perfomance that could have propelled her that much further towards the image she's representing and rather fell flat lacking a dance number and instead bringing a foam finger to perform with. Lets all just thank her for giving parents reason to hate the music industry and what some stars seem to stand for.
-MLK's famous "I Have a Dream" speech for the America's civil rights 50 years ago today, and his legacy still being carried forth by the younger generations today . Since the begining of Vogue, we've all been well informed that white after labour day is completely socially unacceptable. Except that I dont care, and fortunately enough for my favourite "shade not color", it's a huge part of the seasons statement peices. Bags, shoes, and graphic sweaters. I already bought my white purse with gold accents... now go buy yours.
The shape of things this season and everyone's must have? Overalls, an oversized trench, and generally any graphic tee you can find.
Metal toe & cuff accents seem to be this fall's facet progressing from the skulls and studs over dose that was the last couple of seasons. (Unless it was McQueen, then there's never too much).
Music & Interest
- This month had a few new releases! Not only the new track where Big (but still petite) Sean, Jay Electronica and Kendrick Lamar express themselves in the typical rap form of "no holds barred", it realy stood out more than anything lately because of not only the lyrical genius of regular songs but the naming of everyone relevant in today's Hip Hop culture. Personally I like Kendrick when he's witty not angry, but that's just me.
- A$apFerg Released his awaited debut album Traplord on the 20th, though i have yet to hear thoroughly, I'm sure it wont dissappoint as the collab's with his crew and others as the beats A$ap Mob puts down arent to be missed.
- Big Sean just dropped his "Hall of Fame" album which after the release of his "Detroit" mixtape of all original material and hype surrounding "Control" he couldnt have picked a better time.
